Living in Cairns is an absolute blessing when it comes to discovering new, and beautiful places to take the drone up for a fly. Queensland has some of the most relaxed droning rules in the country, which is a massive bonus if you have a drone and you’re visiting the region. My Droning Gear: I bought a DJI Mavic Pro a few years ago and it has never faulted me, but I’m looking forward to getting a new Mavic Air 2. I recommend a DJI to anyone who’s considering getting their first drone.

Cairns and the surrounding region is such a beautiful place to explore.
You’ll find incredible landscapes, from beaches and reef, to rainforest and waterholes. Only an hour or so from Cairns, you’ll find the Atherton Tablelands where you get completely different scenery to play with.
My Favourite Place To Get Drone Photos of Cairns Australia
Fitzroy Island is my favourite place to take the drone for a fly around Cairns because of the crystal clear turquoise waters, white beaches and incredible variation in textures.
